Truck driver injured in rollover

Netcare 911 responded to an accident on January 24 at 4.31am on Rand Airport Road on the N3 and N17 highway split in Germiston.

Reports from the scene indicated that the driver of a heavy motor vehicle lost control while taking an off-ramp, resulting in a rollover.

The driver, approximately 40 years old, and also the only occupant of the truck, sustained moderate injuries.

The Ekurhuleni Fire and Rescue Services with a Netcare 911 rescue technician used hydraulic tools to free the trapped patient, while a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner worked to stabilise him.

Once treated, the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
