Two arrested with counterfeit goods

"Two suspects were subsequently placed under arrested and detained at Norwood SAPS,” said Sambo.

An operation between Johannesburg Flying Squad, Hawks and Johannesburg K9 Unit members on January 19 yielded the arrests of two suspects for possession of counterfeit goods.

According to the Joburg Flying Squad spokesperson, Raymond Sambo, members followed up on information of the suspects that were involved in counterfeit goods.

“Upon arrival, a search was conducted and LCD cellphone screens, estimated to the street value of R1-million, were recovered.

“Two suspects were subsequently placed under arrested and detained at Norwood SAPS,” said Sambo.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the consignment.

Members of the public are encouraged to continue to collaborate with police by reporting crime and other suspicious activities.

The suspects will be making their appearance in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court soon.
