Woman allegedly stabbed during altercation with neighbour

The Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 26-year-old man on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The arrest was made in the Makause informal settlement after the alleged victim of the attack opened a case against the suspect.

“She claimed that the suspect accused her of stealing money from him,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When she denied any wrongdoing, the suspect allegedly become angry and aggressive.

“He reportedly took out a sharp object and stabbed the complainant in the upper body and threatened to burn down her shack.”

Using the description given by the victim, who knows the suspect as he is her neighbour, police were able to trace and arrest him.

He has since appeared in Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
