The South Hills-based residents are frustrated by all the water leaks in their homes.

The COURIER was shown several units which are experiencing water leaks.

Some of the walls are worn out while other units have leaking taps which can’t be closed.

Residents believe the cause of all this is the faulty installation of the pipes which, if it can be repaired, will solve many problems.

The residents told the COURIER all they want is a permanent solution before Gordon Court collapses on them.

The resident said some water leaks seep through electrical meters which might set a unit alight.

On top of their demands, they want recyclable bins to be put in place because a heaps of rubbish has developed at the residence.

Residents said the waste has been left unattended to for several weeks.

One of the vexed resident, Clyde Booysens, said people throw all kinds of waste there and the smell from the heap is unbearable.

“I have been here for some years, but no positive change has been made in regards to water leaks and dirtiness of the place. We often get sick because of the pigsty environment we live in.

“Children can’t play freely because we always reprimand them to not play in certain areas in the court. Children should play everywhere, but due to our conditions here it’s impossible,” said Booysens.
