MISS Jo’burg South 2019 was held at Mall of the South on the evening of September 27, with Michelle Moolman walking away with the winning crown. First princess was Tumi Matela, while Brittany Wait was second princess.

The evening was opened by MC Gert Boshoff, who introduced the Ryan Hignett Productions Choreography dancers. The 10 finalists then took to the stage, individually modelling smart/casual wear, spring/summer wear and evening/bridal wear. The judges had a difficult time deciding on the winners, with all the finalists shining in their own way.

Kurt Darren, the guest entertainer, sang some of his famous hits, including Kaptein and Loslappie, as well as his most recent song, Oh my Soul. He had the audience up on their feet, as well as on the stage, dancing.

Once the judges had made their decisions the winners were announced and then crowned Michelle, who walked away with prizes including a weekend break to Gold Reef City, a six-month usage of a Mazda 2 1.5 Dynamic Auto, valued at R261 300 and sponsored by Mazda Johannesburg South, as well as an international trip to Italy to partake in the 2020 Stella de Europa or 2020 Ragazza Cinema event (subject to availability) valued at R60 000 and sponsored by Rajoc.

Sponsors included Gold Reef City, Mazda Johannesburg South, Rajoc, Wedding Connexion and Keedo amongst many others.

“I’m so excited and thrilled I’ve won this competition. It’s so amazing,” said Michelle, as she gazed at the car she’ll be driving for six months.
