Johannesburg Flying Squad made 23 arrests in one weekend

The three hijacked vehicles were recovered and according to Raymond Sambo, the Johannesburg Flying Squad communications officer, all these cases are ongoing investigations.

JOHANNESBURG Flying Squad’s hard work yielded multiple arrests around Johannesburg during the weekend of September 19 to 23.

A total of 23 suspects were arrested for various crimes.

The crimes are as follows: stolen and hijacked vehicles – three, unlicensed firearms (9mm luger and 9mm browning) with ammunition – two, common theft – 14, warrant of arrest for drugs – one, business burglary – three, common robbery – one, attempted murder – one and possession of drugs – three.

The three hijacked vehicles were recovered and according to Raymond Sambo, the Johannesburg Flying Squad communications officer, all these cases are ongoing investigations.

“Working together with the community led to these recoveries. SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, you may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“All 23 suspects, aged between 21 and 35, will be appearing in different magistrate’s courts facing their different charges,” said Sambo.
