The members have blocked the police station’s main entrance with burning tyres and tree branches.
SANCO members say the purpose of the protest is to see Detective Nongobela fired after he arrested two elderly women for no reason they say.
According to Simphiwe Hlafa Sanco JHB spokesperson, this is the second time Nongobela arrested these elderly women for no reason.
“ We won’t leave until the station commander addresses us. All that we want is see this policeman fired because he’s not serving the community,” said Hlafa.
Hlafa added that the detective favors foreign nationals over them.
Moffat View SAPS communication officer Jeff Phora says the policeman in question isn’t working for Moffat View SAPS but working for specialised unit which deals with evictions but all of that they will address it to Sanco members.
JMPD, Booysens SAPS, JHB Central SAPS, and K-9 unit are on scene.
