RESIDENTS of Moffat View and South Hills, with the Moffat View SAPS and Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame, came together on July 19 to create a mini-park as part of Mandela Day.

The councillor and residents spent the day together as part of the Mandela Day celebration to pay tribute to Mandela’s life on the corner of Outspan and Southern Klipriviersberg roads in Moffat View.

The day started with residents planting trees and painting tyres to beautify the area.

Those who were working on the park were spoiled with hot dogs.

The atmosphere on the day was amazing as attendees on the day shared pleasant conversations and ideas of growing the community of Moffat View, South Hills and surrounding areas.

Chame said this park is for everyone and people should take care of it because it shows how united we are as residents.

“I’m happy to see people and SAPS taking their time to uplift the community. If we continue working together as a community, we will create bigger things than this. I hope we continue working like this with residents, stakeholders and SAPS,” said Chame.
