Sassa advises their beneficiaries on a funeral policy

Beneficiaries can seek permission for a funeral policy premium to be deducted from their grant.

THE South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) firmly advises social grant beneficiaries to deliver the mandate forms to Sassa for purposes of capturing deductions when one applies for a funeral policy.

Beneficiaries can seek permission for a funeral policy premium to be deducted from their grant. This will only be permitted via the submission of the mandate, which will be received from the approved financial service.

Sassa emphasises that only 10 percent can be deducted for one funeral policy and children’s grant may not be used for any funeral policies.

For submission of a written mandate for the deduction, contact your nearest Sassa office.
