AT about 4.05pm on Thursday afternoon, July 11, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Steenbok Avenue in Bassonia. Reports from the scene indicated the driver of a truck lost control going down Comaro Street, Bassonia.
The truck then went up onto an embankment crashing into a tree and a residential wall.
Three adult males sustained moderate injuries and were treated on scene and once stabilised were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.
According to the resident who lives at the house where the truck crashed through his wall, they had just arrived home at the front entrance when they heard an enormous bang. “Parts of the concrete wall were thrown metres into our garden. We can be very thankful our children were not playing in the garden when the accident happened,” he said.
