UPDATE: Work on B11 pipeline shutdown progressing smoothly

Welding work is set to finish within the 54 hours set aside for it.

According to the media relations manager of Rand Water, Justice Mohale, the work on the B11 Shutdown proceeded successfully throughout the night. “A new shift of technicians took over this morning (June 26) to finalise the welding aspects of the project,” said Mohale.

“At this time the project is on target to complete the necessary welding work within the 54-hour schedule. Thereafter the normal processes of commissioning the line will commence.”

According to Mohale the network is operational and stable and all reservoirs are meeting their demands.

“Rand Water requests consumers to continue using water sparingly,” said Mohale.
