How to access Sassa services

Sassa reaches out to the public.

THE South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) is on a mission to teach grant benefactors and public members about Sassa services and how to access them.

If one needs to get a social grant he/she first needs to qualify and be vetted in order to see if they meet the criteria. Sassa says this doesn’t mean that the criteria’s intervention will prevent people from qualifying. It’s just a measure that is used to determine and ensure that the correct deserving beneficiary access social assistance.

Sassa provides services to the poor of the poorest. There is a variety of services provided by Sassa for the poor. These vary from older persons grant, grants for people with disabilities, social grants intended mainly for children as well as Grant In Aid that is intended for social grant recipients who are bedridden due to ill health.

To know which grant one may qualify for, please visit your nearest Sassa office for an assessment or visit our website on www.sassa.gov.za or call our Call Centre at 0800 60 10 11.
