Motorists to be vigilant on N12 highway

Be aware of people asking you for directions and never get out of your vehicle to check the wheels or to assess the damage. Rather drive to a safer location.

MONDEOR station commander Col JJ Bezuidenhoudt makes a plea to the community to be extra vigilant when they are driving on the N12 highway.

There have been incidents of the hijacking of motor vehicles reported with the most recent being a driver who was hijacked on June 4, at 9pm by two unknown armed males.

Criminals have also used a method of pointing at a victim’s motor vehicle’s wheels and as soon as the victim stops they hijack his vehicle, force him inside and drop him in an unknown place. The three to four unknown male suspects are believed to be driving a silver Polo, a white Toyota Hilux double cab bakkie and a white Audi.
