A magical night of music at the Nova Pioneer choir concert.

IT was one of those evenings where the music just would not allow you to sit still.

Nova Pioneer senior school hosted a truly great choir concert on April 5.

Mondeor High School was also invited to join Nova Pioneer’s choir to perform for learners, parents and teachers.

Pioneer was the first to open the concert with the heart-warming song Wen’uthe uyangithanda (Jikeleza my love), which means “you said you love me to turn around my love”.

After walking off the stage, there was much applause and the parents were all smiles.

The Mondeor-based school followed with Ne rebapala motho a wela, which means “we were playing and someone fell”.

VOICE OUT: Lesley Mpemba amazes the audience with his solo performance.

After the two choirs’ performances, solo artists took to the stage with top-notch performances, leaving the audience amazed. One of the highlights of the evening was the joint performance of the two choirs.

Isizulu resident and teacher at Nova Pioneer, Khula Jiji, said the concert was a success with great support from the parents, which made it a lovely evening.

VOICE: Mondeor High School learners perform.

“Hosting events like these ones are draining, but it’s for a good cause. We will maybe host another one in a couple of months. I would also like to thank Mondeor for making this night one to remember,” said Jiji.
