Nova Pioneer hosts first-ever spelling bee

First-ever Nova Pioneer spelling bee competition a success.

NOVA Pioneer junior school learners participated in a nail-biting spelling bee competition on April 8.

This was the first junior school spelling bee competition. The 15 who participated qualified after outclassing their classmates to book their spot in the top 15.

The competition involved Grade Four up to Grade Six learners. Words like “distinguished”, “righteous”, “essential”, “humanities” and many more were drawn for learners to spell out in front of their peers, parents and teachers.

The top three learners were Shiarah Sewsanker (first), Rayyaan Rayman (second) and Wania Amir (third).

The winners will be entered into the South African National Spelling Bee.

Teachers thanked learners for participating and every learner who took part got an accolade of participation.
