A MULBARTON resident and his son were ambushed arriving home just after 8pm on the evening of April 3.
They were being followed by four unknown males to their driveway in Archibald Avenue.
One of the suspects, who had a handgun, shot at the resident. The resident defended himself using a licensed firearm, while the son attempted to reverse his car into the suspects.
The suspects retreated and were picked up by a white Hyundai Elantra. The getaway car may have been damaged in the gunfight. A black firearm and magazine with bullets were found on the scene.
Mondeor SAPS is investigating a case of attempted murder.
