Residents are believed to be easily taken in by these people and at the end of the day lose their money leaving, them in serious debt. SAPS is requesting residents to be extra careful.

Furthermore, Booysens SAPS is warning companies to verify their dealings with people claiming to bank personnel, especially if the company and/or partnership is in the process of changing banking details.

Booysens SAPS communications officer said: “It has again been reported to the station that companies are buying goods and depositing money into a so-called changed account without verifying the information. This money is then withdrawn and the company you dealt with never receive the money and; therefore, do not send the goods you have ordered.”
