Brackenhurst Vet saves Max’s life

Max successfully recovered after swallowing a wire.

RENÉ Parker, founder of Cause4paws, is overjoyed after the puppy “Max Steel” had a successful operation.

Six-week-old Max swallowed a piece of wire which nearly claimed his life.

Max is from Jackson informal settlement, south of Johannesburg, and his owner noticed something was terribly wrong with little Max and called upon the help of René. Max could barely move around and he struggled to eat.

That is when the help of Brackenhurst Vet was called in and it was discovered that Max somehow swallowed a piece of wire which could cause him his life.

Brackenhurst Vets performed a tricky operation on him which yielded positive results.

Parker said she extends her gratitude to Animal Protection Network (APN) for helping to pay Max’s vet bill, and to the brilliant work done by Brackenhurst Vet on Max.

“I urge people to come forward with donations to help abandoned animals,” said Parker.
