SAPS, JMPD and CPF work together to prevent crime

Roadblock yielded positive outcomes under SAPS, JMPD and CPF.

THE R59 in Thulisa Park was blockaded by the Moffatview SAPS, JMPD and CPF members in a joint roadblock operation which was conducted on February 7.

The purpose of the operation was to check for unlicensed firearms, unroadworthy vehicles, overloading, and valid driver’s licence.

During the operation, an unlicensed firearm was confiscated by the SAPS.

Moffatview SAPS communication officer Jeff Phora told the COURIER visibility is a deterrent to any crime, and so the operation was part of an effort by the police to prevent crime.

“We are looking for vehicles that are stolen and hijacked. This is part of policing, we need to be visible as SAPS.”
