THE City of Johannesburg’s Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) releases its monthly crime statistics on January 21, revealing the successes of Operation Buya Mthetho and other policing efforts.
The department has been compiling monthly statistics since September 2018 and has become a tool of reflection for officers, as well as informing residents. Safety remains a key concern for many of our residents. Though policing remains a provincial and national competency, per the Constitution, within its limited mandate, the JMPD is working hard to increase the levels of safety within our communities.
Buya Mthetho will be intensified. We have seen our loopholes and that will be rectified, added Tembe.
Buya Mthetho Revenue Recovered: Of R118 916 054.25 recovered R37 990 403.90 was recovered in Region F in December.
