Fliers containing information on tips to prevent crimes were distributed by the police in Junction Mall, The Glen Shopping Centre, Southgate Shopping Centre and Mall of the South.

Tips included things to do which could help prevent crimes such as hijacking, house and business robberies.

Tips to prevent contact crimes such as assault, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, rape, robbery and murder, which are mainly caused by consumption of alcohol, were also shared.

The police said it is not advisable to carry a lot of cash when going to shop. Be alert and be safe, do not be a victim of crime.
