SOUTH Hills Corinthians Football Club held their year-end awards ceremony in South Hills on November 28.

Nicolene Whelan from the club said the day was filled with some tears and then mostly laughter.

“We would like to thank our sponsor, Pastor Paulo from Brazil, who made this day possible for us. Above all, it is a great honour to be part of this community soccer club and helping these children. Const Desiree Nose and Const Cecilia Masuku from Moffatview Police Station who head the social crime prevention unit also assisted us to achieve our goal.

“This ceremony is also in memory of the late Hlobsile Wendy Msibi, who was the first ever to sponsor soccer kit to the club. Also a thank you to René, Steeledale Pick n Pay and Thabiso and Linda from Steeledale Sport and Fitness Gym for assisting us with our junior division fund-raiser held September 8,” said Nicolene.
