UPDATE: Owner of Lusitano Restaurant in Regents Park shot dead

Murder suspect of Lusitano Restaurant owner still at large.

UPDATE (3pm):

Moffat View Police Communications officer Captain Jeff Phora released the following statement:
” It is alleged that earlier this morning, around 9:30 am, one of the employees was opening the business premises when he was overpowered by an armed suspect. The suspect proceeded straight into the owners office while the employee ran for cover.

However preliminary police investigation has revealed that the owner was pointed with a firearm and instructed to lie down. Just before the suspect left the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash a tussle ensued between the suspect and the owner, in the process the victim was shot once in the head and paramedics declared the victim dead on the scene.

No arrests have been made while the suspect is still at large.”

BREAKING NEWS (11am):

The owner of Lusitano Restaurant  in Regents Park, corner Augusta Road and Frieda Street has been shot dead today, 17 October.

Moffat View Colonel Lesley Lloyd confirmed  it. “It was a robbery and murder. The owner was shot dead,” he said.

Moffat View Police Communications officer Captain Jeff Phora will give the details later.
