UNCLEWIZ Fresh Produce is a small business that promotes healthy living by growing organic produce.

Run by Wisdom Edward, the business is based in Turffontein while the farm is situated in Vanderbijlpark.

Edward started his operations from humble beginnings when he leased a farm in the Vaal area. The business first opened its doors five years ago.

Unclewiz practises agro-processing, planting organic vegetables and herbs, including scent leaf and bitter leaf, among others. The agro-processing side of the business mainly grows and processes medicinal herbs and spices. The production wing focuses on organic vegetables, such as spinach, onion, beetroot, cabbage, brinjal, okra, chomolia, melon, carrots, potatoes, pumpkin, Zambian rape and Chinese spinach.

Edward grew up in a rural area, giving him an edge in farming, and he has been in the business for over 10 years. Today he nurtures his community by providing them with fresh, organic and healthy produce.

GROWING: Spinach is being grown without the use of chemicals.

“I want to increase staff in my business over the next two years. This vegetable business is for the people of Turffontein. I want to have Turffontein people working with me all over the country. But my main priority is to teach people about the importance of organic vegetables,” said Edward.
