Support National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer

“Anyone can become a Cupcake Angel. The only requirement is that your cupcakes must be made with love.”

CUPCAKES of Hope will be hosting the seventh National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer on September 29.

This is a community-driven project where Cupcake Angels ‘bake’ a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

The non-profit organisation’s mission is to raise awareness of childhood cancer and funds for kids with cancer who are in need of medical and financial assistance. They do this predominantly through their love of baking and selling cupcakes.

Founder of this initiative, Sandy Cipriano, said: “Anyone can become a Cupcake Angel. The only requirement is that your cupcakes must be made with love.”

Cupcakes of Hope assists up to 70 cancer patients per month by paying towards their medical treatments or other day-to-day expenses like food, clothing and transport for hospital visits. All of the cancer patients go through a stringent registration process, which includes the submission of doctors’ letters specifying their diagnosis.

Mugg & Bean is also supporting this inspiring initiative by donating proceeds from the sales of their giant muffins towards Cupcakes of Hope for #cupcakes4kidswithcancer. Mugg & Bean will be driving this initiative throughout their restaurants countrywide where, for every giant muffin purchased, R5 will be donated to Cupcakes of Hope. So, be sure to buy a delicious muffin and support Cupcakes of Hope.

To take part in National Cupcake Day, visit www.cupcakesofhope.org to find your nearest participating mall, contact the mall coordinator to make your pledge of 24 or 48 cupcakes. The public can support the cause on the day by making a R10 donation for a delicious cupcake.
