Update: Water and electricity to be restored
Residents are advised to use water sparingly as it comes back on.
A new transformer at Eikenhof substation has tested positive.
“We are currently adding the 9000l of oil will be added before we will bleed the system and all looks positive to flick the switch to on around 6pm,” says MMC Nico de Jager.
Electricity will restored to Randwater but please note that it will take time for reservoirs and water towers to fill.
Residents are advised to use water sparingly as it comes back on.
By tomorrow evening water should be restored across the city.
