Methodist church to celebrate women

Women's day event to be educational

ROBERTSHAM Methodist Church will be hosting a Women’s Day celebration on August 26 at the Methodist Church in Robertsham.

The purpose of the event is to celebrate women’s bravery and the role that women play in communities. One of the church members, Dr Nomonde Mqhayi-Mbambo, said: “Robertsham Methodist Church serves a community that is currently facing a high rate of youth unemployment, drugs, alcohol abuse and human trafficking.

“The focus on the day will be on mentoring young girls and empowering women’s projects. Women are the most vulnerable individuals, however, the event will not be on women as victims, women must come expecting change.”

The event will commence at noon and will continue until about 2pm. For more information on the event, you can contact Mqhayi-Mbambo on 079 231 0326 or 060 997 5420.
