South Rand Hospital rehab staff and patients participates in Walk the Talk

The people that joined us on the day included our previous in-patients that were treated in the rehabilitation ward of South Rand Hospital - Janice Cowley.

SOUTH Rand Hospital rehab staff and patients ‘walked the talk’ when four of their outpatients were sponsored to participate in the 702 Walk the Talk last month.

Occupational therapists Janice Cowley thanked 702 for the sponsorship.

“We joined Tshwane Rehab Hospital and walked the 5km with our four patients that did it in their wheelchairs.

“We as staff of South Rand Hospital participate every year in the 702 Walk the Talk so that we can advocate for people with disabilities and try to encourage more people to join in on the walk. We walked for people with disabilities. The people that joined us on the day included our previous in-patients that were treated in the rehabilitation ward of South Rand Hospital,” she said.

As one of the patients stated, “It was so good to be outside and around people because most days I am inside and only see one or two people a day.”

“We will continue to do this walk every year and we encourage people to walk for a cause,” noted Janice.
