Mr and Miss Little Soweto heading to iJUMP

“In Soweto we have plenty of talent. However, it is unfortunate that no opportunities are available to expose their talents.”

EIGHTY finalists from the Mr and Miss Little Soweto pageant will be heading to the iJUMP Trampoline Arena at The Glen Shopping Centre on August 23 to enjoy a “jumptastic” day filled with fun.

iJUMP provides adrenaline junkies and first-time players of all ages with endless entertainment filled with the action-packed freedom of weightlessness jumping and flying through the air. With more than 100 interconnected wall-to-wall trampolines and over 1 000 square feet of giant jumping and soft landings, iJUMP is a fusion of a big-kids playground, park and your very own personalised circus act.

“Many children in Soweto, especially those who are underprivileged, are not familiar with places like iJUMP. When we saw the trampoline facilities we knew that our children will enjoy going there,” said Oscar Mabuza, pageant representative.

Mr and Miss Little Soweto is a new trend of modelling that roams around all Soweto daycares. They have qualified and crowned models who teach little children how to walk and showcase on stage. Daycares in Soweto are selected to participate. Thereafter, the children within each daycare are trained and prepared to compete with other daycares for the title of their local area. The little models who win will qualify to compete for the title of Mr and Miss Little Soweto.

“In Soweto we have plenty of talent. However, it is unfortunate that no opportunities are available to expose their talents. Mr and Miss Little Soweto provide an opportunity for children to focus in school and they also get to practice in arts. This helps in keeping them off the streets as they are growing. Looking towards the future, our country will have fewer future leaders as most young people are into drugs. However, we must support the young ones so that they will be able to take charge in leading our country towards success,” added Busisiwe Mmotla, reigning Miss Soweto 2017.
