Fun in the sun at Jackson Drift on Mandela Day

“To each and every one of you who came out to offer your help and donate food, clothing, shoes and so much more, you know who you are. Heartfelt thanks.”

ZAK the Zoo Buddy, the mascot from Rietvlei Zoo Farm, visited Jackson Drift Informal Settlement in Eikenhof on July 21 for the Child Reach/Cause4Paws Mandela Day.

Volunteers from many organisations, companies and schools gave out food, cold drinks, cakes, shoes and clothing to the gogos and children. The community sang and celebrated, played soccer and netball and danced. A fantastic and fun day was enjoyed by all.

TIME FOR FUN: Enjoying a game of netball.

René Parker of Child Reach and Cause4Paws said, “Child Reach was truly blessed by all the donations and volunteers who helped with our Mandela Day celebrations on Saturday.

“To each and every one of you who came out to offer your help and donate food, clothing, shoes and so much more, you know who you are. Heartfelt thanks.”

To help or make future donations to Child Reach for their soccer, drummies, dancing and netball teams or for Cause4Paws and their Paw Rangers, please contact René Parker on 083 414 6144 or contact René for a site visit and to find out more about how you can help.
