WATCH: Bees invade house in South Hills

Bees terrifies South Hills resident and they need help to remove the bees

LONA Oulden, who lives in South Hills, has had enough of bees that have invaded her home – and the problem is just getting worse.

The bees have made a nest in her son’s bedroom. The family tried to burn plastics and tyres to kill them, but with no luck. The bees have now settled in the home’s ceiling where she believes there is honey.

Since the bees moved in, the family can’t get proper sleep anymore. “At noon these bees exit the ceiling and make their way down to the living room, and to my son’s room. She is allergic to bees. The bees have spoiled our family bond. Even the children can’t play inside or outside the house because they might be stung,” Lona told the Courier.

“My son can’t sleep properly in his room because the bees have taken full control of his room. These bees terrify me because they can sting anyone in the house. This is a huge problem I am facing. It has exhausted me because we have tried killing them but have failed to flush them out,” said Lona.

On Saturday, July 21, the situation got worse. They couldn’t even settle indoors. They have tried to call for help, and have contacted the councillor’s office. She said they were promised that someone would be sent, and they were still waiting.

“All I want is to have the bees removed. I can’t live like this in my house. The bee nest is in my son’s room. We tried to close-up where the bees have made holes in the ceilings. I don’t know what to do anymore, but what I know is I need help,” said Lona.

If anyone wants to help Lona Oulden, or know of a beekeeper who can help, Lona can be contacted on 063 655 9983.
