Be thankful – Gratitude is the medicine that heals wounds

Showing up to impress has got serious limitations and leads to envy, jealousy, bitterness, sadness and unhappiness.

“Any day above ground is a good day. Before you complain about anything, be thankful for your life and the things that are still going well.” – Germany Kent

Gratitude is the medicine that heals wounds. Gratitude is about accepting yourself for what you are, who you are and why you are. Gratitude is about the positive attitude, the warm feeling of deeply knowing that it could have been worse.

Cultivating an attitude of gratitude begins with counting your blessings. This simply means, gratitude is expressing thanks for the gifts we receive. Genuine gratitude helps us to see the little things in life that are often overlooked, yet so precious. As human beings, we tend to focus more on what is not going our way and completely become blinded to those things that are going well for us. This is mainly because of the unnecessary competition that we find ourselves entangled in.

If you choose the attitude of showing up every day with the intention of expressing your gifts and talents to others as opposed to impressing others with what you have, you will have a warm feeling inside. Showing up to impress has got serious limitations and leads to envy, jealousy, bitterness, sadness and unhappiness. The minute you realise that you are enough and worthy just the way you are, peace of mind, joy and contentment will follow.

You are who you are and just accept it! We are all different for a reason.

I am thankful that I am living my purpose and yes, there are a number of things that are not always going my way but knowing how lucky I am to be above ground, keeps me going strong. My purpose is to inspire and empower you, the reader, to find clarity in your life and discover your purpose to become the best version of yourself.
