DA celebrates Youth Month in South Hills

Manny de Freitas said that it is these simple yet powerful acts of kindness that are needed in the community to make it better.

AS part of the DA Johannesburg South Constituency Leadership Development Programme (CLDP), participants of this programme decided to support Youth Month (June) by visiting the Look Forward Creativity Centre in South Hills.

“The CLDP participants decided that they wanted to give something back in the month of June. They did this by visiting the centre and spending time with children and youth there,” explained Joburg South MP Manny de Freitas.

He said the CLDP participants got a lot out of this visit as did the children and young people at the centre. The Look Forward Creativity Centre is trying to assist the most vulnerable in society.

Clr Faeeza Chame (ward councillor for Ward 57, in which the centre is) and Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis also joined in the visit and interacted and played with the children and youth.

“I congratulate the CLDP participants for celebrating Youth Month in a different way – in such a way that acknowledges those that need extra and special attention from society,” said de Freitas.

He said that it is these simple yet powerful acts of kindness that are needed in the community to make it better.
