Be careful with heaters and gas fires and never leave them on when you leave your home.

The same with electric blankets, never leave them on if you go out of the house. As a precautionary measure don’t sleep with your electric blanket switched on.

Make sure gas bottles are filled up. If the cold front lasts for a few days gas bottles may be sold out at local suppliers and petrol station outlets.

Bring your pets indoors overnight. A severe drop in temperatures will leave them shivering outside.

For any life threatening emergencies call 10177 on Telkom landline or 112 on your Cell phone or 011 375 5911.
