South Hills musicians to make a difference in the community

The young musicians want to be on top of the entertainment industry.

A MUSICAL group from South Hills wants to put their community on the map through their music.

The group, established by Bronwill Vaden Dalton, Kabelo Maphango, Hero Manthatha and Wilton Dos Santos last year December, is not yet prominent in the Hills, but they are striving to make a name for themselves in the entertainment industry.

They stage open music classes for children of South Hills who aspire to be professional musicians. However, to keep the classes going they are only hindered by lack of connections in the industry and not having all the equipment they need.

So far the group has been battling in finding a studio and participated in music festivals around the South areas. The group was inspired by the lack of opportunities in the community so they saw the need to create opportunities for the next generation in the community.

Bronwill said: “We want to help children get off the streets, away from gangsterism and drugs. Also, helping the children to better their academics by supplying them with educational study tools. If our group can get the recognition it needs, we will go far and people from the community will benefit from our success. We would like to get someone who will help us achieve what we want.”
