Two police officers retrieved two illegal firearms as they were doing their daily routine patrolling in Turffontein on Sunday, June 3.
The officers noticed a red Hyundai parked in the middle of the street and approached the vehicle and parked their state vehicle behind it. They then identified themselves as police officials to the two occupants in the Hyundai.
They approached the vehicle and searched the occupants and found one magazine with one live round of ammunition and a black pistol in the other suspect’s pants.
The suspects were arrested and taken to Booysens SAPS.
