4 arrested for possession of illegal firearms in Regents Park

THE Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested four suspects for possession of illegal firearms on May 23 in Regents Park in the afternoon.

This arrest comes after the police were alerted to four suspicious-looking men sitting inside a white Volkswagen Polo which was reported wanted by police as it was used in other robberies around the South.

The police immediately acted upon the information received and closed in on the suspects. They conducted a search of the car and recovered two guns and one knife which was found in the suspects’ possession.

The investigation is still in motion to determine how many other crimes the suspects are linked to. The suspects are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
