The holy month of Ramadan

Keeping the holy month of Ramadan.

AL Huda Academy from Robertsham marked their first day of Ramadan on May 17.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. In the month of Ramadan, Muslims, who are in a state of good health, abstain from food and drinks from dawn to sunset. The purpose of the fast is to allow Muslims to empathise with the poor and needy, who go without food on a daily basis. The academy is encouraged to generously give to charity during this blessed month to help the less fortunate.

At the end of the month, the academy will scan the skies for the new moon which marks the end of the month of fasting. The first day of the new month will be a day of celebration known as Eid-ul-Fitr.

The academy’s message to all Muslims is “Let us extend our charity beyond the holy month of Ramadan, to help all those less fortunate throughout the year, irrespective of colour, creed or religion.”

The staff and learners at Al Huda Academy would like to take this opportunity to wish all Muslims well for the month of Ramadan.
