High school career expo at The Glen

Transport can be organised for a minimum of 22 people at a cost of R10 per person within a 10km radius and R20 within an 11km to 20km radius from The Glen Shopping Centre.

THE Glen Shopping Centre, in association with SABC, is hosting a Career Expo on May 25 and 26.

The Career Expo includes tertiary education providers and admission requirements, course details (personal explanation), career decision making, motivational speakers, student loans information, student accommodation, student transport, career changes and bursaries and job opportunities.

The High Schools Expo will include public and private high schools, special programmes and extra-curricular activities like sports, music and admissions criteria.

You can visit the expo as a group or individual and there will be inspirational talks, flash mobs, music and lots of other entertainment and prizes to give away.

If you visit as a group between 9am and 12pm there will be a stage with motivational speakers at the High Flyers Power Hour to give you inspirational talks. Each group will be entertained for 30 to 40 minutes after which you can walk around to speak to each individual exhibitor.

You don’t need more than an hour and a half at the expo. Schools can organise a small school outing and help the students with their career paths.

Entrance is free for everyone to attend and you get the chance to find out about education.

The High School Career Expo is South Africa’s only national public exhibition that is designed to provide both primary school learners looking for a high school, or prospective learners and high school learners with the necessary tools to succeed in high school or tertiary education and beyond.

All primary and middle school learners and their parents can learn more about public and private high schools, including special programmes, extra-curricular activities and admissions criteria.

Tertiary institutions are welcome to exhibit to provide prospective students with tertiary education information.

Furthermore, all high school parents and learners, especially Grade 11 and 12 are invited. They will be provided with tertiary information, courses, loans, transportation, accommodation and assist with detailed course explanation and to make the correct choice of study.
