Monteiro said the community standing together against crime, in partnership with the police, is taking charge.

MOFFAT View SAPS under the leadership of W/O Tshepo Biyela and W/O Siphamandla Mabaso with CPF Moffat View patrollers of the three sectors conducted a high visibility stop and search operation in the Moffat View precinct on April 20.

The CPF was lead by deputy chairman Isaac Davis and assisted by patroller co-ordinator Paulo Monteiro.

The operation was a success as liquor was confiscated from illegal outlets. Moffat View CPF thanked the CPF patrollers, SAPS and JMPD officers who were involved in these operations for their efforts to combat crime.

Another operation under the leadership of Captain Joseph Makhubela in collaboration with JMPD, SAPS and Moffat View CPF was held on April 13. They conducted a roadblock in Sector Three aimed at drinking and driving. Eleven people who were over the allowed alcohol limit were arrested.

Moffat View CPF Sector Three appeals to the Moffat View community not to drink and drive as this endangers your life and the lives of other community members.

Prior to the roadblock, the SAPS and CPF patrollers went through the entire area on a high-visibility operation lead by Makhubela.

Monteiro said the community standing together against crime, in partnership with the police, is taking charge.
