Crèches to acquire project management skills

The Believers Care Society is an accredited provider of this course through Services SETA.

BELIEVERS Care Society (BCS) is inviting owners of Early Childhood Development Centres (crèches) and their staff members to apply for a skills development opportunity.

This is initiated to assist them in running their crèches professionally and also to receive mentorship which will ensure that children under their care are properly taken care of, especially orphans and vulnerable children. The project is supported by the United States President’s Emergency Plan For Aids Relief (Pepfar).

Crèche owners and their staff will receive an accredited skills training course on Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Project management, SAQA ID: 50080. The course is for a duration of four months, attending only twice a week on Fridays at 1pm to 4pm and Saturdays at 8am to noon. The duration of the entire project will be for six months, which also includes the mentorship programme. A certificate of competence will be issued at the completion of the course to participants that completed and passed the course, as well as a certificate of mentorship participation in the Aids Relief programme. Registration is currently in progress and only 35 participants will be accepted, two people per crèche.

Classes will commence on March 23. Classes will take place at the development centre in Turffontein, 85 High Street.

This course is completely free of charge. BCS is encouraging the crèches to take advantage of this rare opportunity, especially those that are non-funded and lack project management skills.
