No bonuses for City Power board of directors

Clr Nico de Jager, MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, including oversight over City Power, praised this move.

THE City Power board of directors took an unprecedented decision when it resolved that all members of the City Power’s executive management committee together with the general managers are not to be paid their annual bonuses for the last financial year of 2016/17.

The board is of the opinion that while all deserving employees from the level of managers and below could be paid their annual bonuses, members of the company’s executive management committee have collectively not achieved the board’s expectations and targets.

Clr Nico de Jager, MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, including oversight over City Power, praised this move.

“It shows that the leadership of City Power are personally committed to taking responsibility to improve the performance of the entity. This commitment to service excellence at a personal level is recognition of the responsibility they have to the residents of the City of Johannesburg. I look forward to continuing to work with the team to improve City Power’s service to all residents.”
