Meet fitness fanatic Jade Habib

"You can be loving and caring and strong and powerful at the same time."

BEING a fitness fanatic is all she wants to be and in the process, she also wants to empower women

The COURIER sat down with one of Alberton and the South’s top fitness coaches to talk about what she does.

Jade Habib (32) lives in Glenanda but spends a lot of time in Alberton giving classes and making the population a little healthier, one class at a time.

Habib has always lived in the South and comes from a very health-conscious family.

“I learned everything I know from my mother who is also in the fitness industry. My dad used to be a bodybuilder and my brother is a nutritionist, so the whole family is into being fit and healthy,” she said.

All about balance

Jade is one busy lady, offering several classes every day throughout the week, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I’ve been in the industry for 16 years, half my life if you think about it, and I love it. There is nothing else I would rather do,” said the athlete.

Jade has a passion for helping women feel sexy and empowered. She wants them to understand that you don’t have to lose your nurturing side to compete with men in this world, she said. “You can be loving and caring and strong and powerful at the same time. Yin and yang – we all have those dual attributes. It’s all about balance,” said the wise trainer.

Latest fitness craze

One of the recent fitness crazes to hit South Africa has Jade very excited and she says it’s one of the best ways to get a great workout without even knowing it because it’s so much fun.

“‘Pound’ is a fitness system that incorporates drumming in exercise movements and allows you to keep rhythm. Because you’re focusing on the rhythm and having fun, you don’t realise how hard you are working; it’s honestly one of the best workouts out there,” said Habib excitedly.

Keep an eye out for Jade, an inspirational trainer, who believes in the holistic approach to fitness and understands the importance of the relationship between mind, body and soul.
