Regents Park Primary, take a bow

He said the work that the principal was doing with the children was beyond words.

HUGE applause has been given to Regents Park Primary School

Every year, Member of Parliament for Johannesburg south Manny de Freitas conducts a series of school visits in the area. This year he was accompanied by Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame.

They visited Regents Park Primary School on January 24 and were pleasantly surprised by the attitude and treatment they received at the school.

De Freitas, who believes schools are a reflection of their principals, said it was evident from their visit that every aspect of the school had been well attended to.

He said the work that the principal was doing with the children was beyond words.

“From the gardens, which are immaculate, to the cleanliness of the facilities to the high-discipline environment to the teachers and their high teaching standards. We saw all this when we visited,” he said.

De Freitas lauded all role players for their contribution to the success of the school. He acknowledged the school’s governing body, teachers and principal, Karl Schofield.

Both de Freitas and Chame said it was irresponsible of parents not to pay their children’s school fees when they were able to do so financially.

They said parents needed to prioritise their children’s education for them to have brighter and more prosperous futures.

Regents Park Primary got the thumbs up from Chame and de Freitas, who described the school as a beacon in the community.
