A POLICEMAN from Mondeor Police Station has been shot while on duty.
According to Captain Dube, Communications SAPS Mondeor, the shooting happened in Eikenhof, after a business robbery.
“The police were on patrol in the area of the robbery and when the four suspects were leaving the scrapyard which they had just robbed, they saw the police vehicle and began to shoot at it.
“One SAPS member has sustained gunshots and has been taken to a local hospital where he will undergo an emergency operation,” said Dube.
The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cell phones, and managed to escape the scene. They were driving a white Toyota Tazz.
