All great things come from inside

May your gains far outweigh your losses.

TOO soon have we reached the end of another fast-paced and challenging year.

Looking back many may say: “This truly was the best year in my life!” while others may look back pondering about things that could have been so different, getting stuck on their failures and losses.

But when we learn to give thanks even in hard times, we are educating ourselves to focus on the good things in our lives and leave the bad behind.

Then I remember a message sent to me: “Is it not so, that when an egg is broken by an outside force, the life within is ended? But when an egg is broken from an inside force a new life begins. And so, all great things begin from inside.”

It is then we have to remember these wise words from Anon: “Strengths and weaknesses are not always measured in victories and medals we achieve, but with the struggles we overcome.”

My wish for you this festive season is to find the time to look within, to find the strength inside to face hardships. May you find that you are able to look back at that which has made you stronger and embrace it with gratitude.

May you find the gratitude for all the good things in your life and pay it forward – to those in need, to those close to you and in being kind to yourself.

May your gains far outweigh your losses.

And this is also a time to give thanks to others.

To all those residents who allowed us into their homes and lives to share their stories with our readers – thank you.

To all our advertisers (old and new), thank you for your support.

To those who’ll be taking care of the ill, elderly and frail; to those patrolling our streets to keep us safe and those serving us from behind a counter while we enjoy a break – thank you. be blessed, be safe.

We wish you all a blessed festive season and new year bringing you only the best.

May God bless our communities.
