BREAKING NEWS: Armed “cop” kills three in rampage

The man was wearing police uniform.

A man believed to be a police officer has randomly opened fire and killed two people in the south of Johannesburg.

The man randomly walked into Piet Street, City Deep and opened fire around 11am this morning, December 5.

The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.

Scores of police have responded to the crime scene and have cordoned off the area.

No information has been communicated by police.

A bullet proof vest and blood being washed away by drizzle can be seen inside the cordoned off area.

Piet Street has been closed off and the armed man was said to be in police custody after he ran out of bullets following the senseless shoot out.

Locals say the man was shouting when he randomly opened fire. They say a police response unit returned fire and detained the man.

Talk of a third victim were being passed around. The COURIER was still awaiting confirmation from police.
