Conversation with strangers: A man’s quest to be the light

Conversations with a stranger.

A WISE man once said everyone has a unique story to tell and it is allowing them the space to present their canvas that enlightens and takes one on a journey unimagined.

The COURIER spoke to a 25-year-old preacher who says he identified his calling from the age of 12.

Prince Kalonga Bestino from Congo, a now Turffontein resident, says he had a dream when he was 12 that showed him his destiny which was to preach and spread the word of God.

“I was dreaming of angels telling me that God needed me. I was telling people about the message of God like a pastor but was too young to hold a sermon in a church.”

He used to be curious and always asked fellow congregants questions about the Bible.

Bestino said he learned the guitar from that age and today can sing and play all instruments. A preacher to date, he says one of his dreams is to preach not only in Africa but the world.

Bestino said he had a book he was working on, which was in its finals stages. The book, My Exodus is a Christian book intended to advise those who call themselves Christian while doing things that were un-Christian.

BOOK POWER: His book My Exodus.

He said being a Christian was being a light for people just as Jesus was.

He said one could not claim Christianity if they were still in prostitution, killing and stealing as they were not exemplary and not a light of confidence to others.

“That was why I wrote this book. From darkness into the light, which is to move people from the darkness and take them into the light just as Moses did in Israel from Egypt to Ganna.”
