Domestic Watch ends year in style

Domestics all gathered at the year-end luncheon on Thursday, November 23, and enjoyed a delicious meal while socialising and relaxing.

IT was a blissful morning as the Domestic Watch team enjoyed a time of relaxing, socialising and fellowship around a scrumptious meal at their Christmas lunch and year-end party at the Golden Falls Spur in Columbine Square.

The Domestic Watch meets throughout the year to learn important safety tips and self-defence tactics to keep in mind while at work. Michelle Pelser from the community policing forum (CPF) as well as various security companies and the Mondeor and Moffat View SAPS play a key role in organising these meetings.

Around 50 domestics were present at the lunch on Thursday, November 23. Each one of them together with the supporters of the Domestic Watch received certificates of appreciation.

There were spot prizes given out and raffles held at the lunch, and after the three-course meal each person went home with cupcakes and a shopping bag full of groceries. Such excitement indeed as the ladies rejoiced in receiving so much for the festive season. There were cold drinks, rice, maize meal, snacks, chips, biscuits, washing powder, soaps, books, sweets, spices, and so much more in the goodie bags.
