Councillor to the rescue

These stands are in Evans and Forest streets just off Koll Road.

FOUR years of pain and suffering is finally over for the residents of Forest Hill as Ward 124 Clr Mongameli Myameni facilitates the cleaning and the fencing of the problematic open and abandoned stands.

These stands are in Evans and Forest streets just off Koll Road. Illegal dumping, robbery, theft, rape, murder and the selling of drugs were some of the activities that would happen on these stands. While campaigning for the ward, Myameni said he promised the community in August this year that he will take care of the situation.

“I have been in talks with City of Johannesburg’s Pikitup and Johannesburg Property Company (JPC) regarding the cleaning of these stands as well as barricading them. Pikitup Region F area manager Absolom Mkhumbeni organised trucks to remove debris from these stands and it will soon be fenced. I assured the residents that this will be sorted and I will keep them updated in my public meetings that I will be having in the near future,” he said.
